As a scholar profession, elementalists wear light armor.Įlementalists who venture the Heart of Maguuma with the Heart of Thorns expansion can choose to become tempests, learning to overload their attunements for powerful effects at the expense of a longer recharge, while imbuing their voices with magic into shouts that aid nearby allies.Įlementalists that traverse the Crystal Desert and the Kingdom of Elona with the Path of Fire expansion can choose to become weavers, wielding one attunement on one hand and another attunement in the other, and even combine their effects into Dual Attacks.

Elementalists can also manifest the elements as conjured weapons with their own set of skills, or as allied elementals to aid them in combat. Albeit lacking in defense, elementalists are very versatile and have access to a plethora of skills, as these change when attuning to the different elements. They wield each of these elements to defeat their foes and aid their allies. What they lack in physical toughness, they make up for in versatility and the ability to inflict massive damage.Įlementalist is a profession of master spell casters who manipulate four attunements of Fire, Water, Air, and Earth as their profession mechanic. Renegade for Open-world, Story, Fractals and Strikes (but I don't really like Herald nor Vindicator).Elementalists are multifaceted spellcasters who channel elemental forces, making fire, air, earth, and water do their bidding.

I myself play Virtuoso and Spellbreaker for PvP (but I don't have any idea how to play any other mesmer or warrior spec really).Ĭore Necro for WvW (but I haven't touched Scourge or Harb) Sometimes learning a new class is easier than learning a new complex elite spec. You don't have to find your main on your first attempt :) Nearly everything is account-bound (including mounts and ascended gear and Masteries).Īfter lvl 80, the Elite Specialization will give an absurd spin on the class-mechanics and you may have many different Classes and Elite Specs for many different game modes. Quite mobile, good damage, the spells are impactful, good visuals, good and diverse weapon choices, and it actually makes you learn some important mechanics of the game: Dodging, Blinding, Aegis, Blocking and Combo-fields.Īfter you hit lvl 80, you'll get a lot of help to level alts. If so, let me also highlight the fact that Guardian is also really good to level up with. I love bursty power builds and soulbeast fits that to a tee for me, but other people probably hate it because it can be tricky to pull off or is easy to screw up. I love ranger, I've main'd it for 10 years. Enjoyment of a class is the no.1 thing that should factor into your decision and guess what, "fun" is purely subjective and you and ONLY you can decide that. There has been a huge influx lately of people asking what they should play. How about necros? Reaper is the king of open world, scourge is the hard carry group content class andthey are the pillar of WvW zerg groups while harbringer is an excellent roamer/pvp class. Playing my ranger I can go from being top or near top DPS (on both condi and power soulbeast builds), switch up to a heal alac druid and hard carry pugs, switch over to untamed and dps alac, jump into PvP or WvW and destroy people on soulbeast and don't' get me started on how good rangers are in open world.

Spellbreaker is a god in pvp and berserker in the right hands is an animal in WvW. People hate on warriors but bladesworn has stupid high dps. Seriously every class is good it's just down to personal preference. DH is terrible in PvE, willbender is hardly ever seen outside of PvP and while versatile, Engi pretty much only runs mechanist or occasionally scrapper People have only said guard and engi here. Nothing worse than making a pick base only of how "meta" it is. Most professions can do most things well, just play what you enjoy.
