Reaper is the king of open world, scourge is the hard carry group content class andthey are the pillar of WvW zerg groups while harbringer is an excellent roamer/pvp class. Playing my ranger I can go from being top or near top DPS (on both condi and power soulbeast builds), switch up to a heal alac druid and hard carry pugs, switch over to untamed and dps alac, jump into PvP or WvW and destroy people on soulbeast and don't' get me started on how good rangers are in open world.
Spellbreaker is a god in pvp and berserker in the right hands is an animal in WvW. People hate on warriors but bladesworn has stupid high dps. Seriously every class is good it's just down to personal preference. DH is terrible in PvE, willbender is hardly ever seen outside of PvP and while versatile, Engi pretty much only runs mechanist or occasionally scrapper People have only said guard and engi here. Nothing worse than making a pick base only of how "meta" it is. Most professions can do most things well, just play what you enjoy.
